When the civil war ended all the African Americans thought that they had retrieved their freedom, but little did they know it was not what they thought. During reconstruction African Americans were discriminated.. There were laws created that put a strain on African American right. These set of laws were called the Black Code. The whites treated the black very poorly the blacks were under the whites authority. There hope for freedom seemed like it would very long to get to that point. The black code consist of these kind of laws. Blacks who are unemployed could and would be arrested but the trick was they did not make finding a job easy for them either. All these codes made the way the African Americans were living much like slavery. The codes (laws) wanted to make sure that slaves were for sure treated this way. The African Americans have been taken advantage of.
The civil rights movement in the 1950's and the 1960's was considered the Southern Freedom Movement. This act was to disagree and band discrimination against the color of your skin, race or religion. The difference between the way African Americans were treated during the Reconstruction era and the civil rights movement was this.During the reconstruction era white tried to do everything possible to restrain African Americans and have them under there authority, wanted to control every aspect of their lives. In the civil rights movement also known as the Southern Freedom Movement tried to help African Americans. The movement tried to enable Africans Americans to have some of their rights and give them what they deserved which was freedom. All these african american people who we can look up to who are icons have chnaged todays society although discrimination is still around and is still know and happens, due to these laws, movements and acts now it is less likely to occur.

the reality of a cowboy
There are many different perceptions about cowboys and their lifestyle. Noone really knows how hard a cowboy has to work unless you are one..Hollywood makes the life of a cowboy way easier then it really is. In Hollywood cowboys are either known as these heroes who saves there lady or some as a bad guy. But that is not it at all the life of a real cowboy is where hard labor takes places working on the farm, Taking care of cattle, the crops and having the strength and courage, Not everyone sees that now a days and they take for granted how hard cowboys really have it.
Usually in Hollywood or the programs everyone watches today, all you see is cowboys on a horse with a rope, riding through the town with there vest and cowboy boots. Skinny average sized man. Being a cowboy is a lot of responsibility and takes a lot of strength. REAL cowboys do dirty work, for instance tending to the cattle, feeding the animals cleaning up after them taking care of their horses and riding the horses. That is pretty much a cowboys way of transportation is his animal. Cowboys mainly use their horse to work the cattle. These horses did not just get the sense to round up cattle themselves the cowboys had to train them to do these things .They needed to survive and have money. The cowboys had to make sure that they had enough cattle and in good condition to be able to sell.
Cowboys have to and should be strong and ready for whatever. Not just the horses would do the job for a cowboy. The cowboys worked all day wether it was super hot or super cold the cowboys were out getting their job done. They had to endure some hard labor. They had task such as repairing fences, maintaining the ranch equipment, Not only that they had to know how to care for the animals in whatever condition they were in, wether they were sick, wounded or were in really horrible conditions. Especially if they were on a small ranch, and did not have much help.
Cowboys also had to know how to be a caretaker. Not only for themselves but for the family they had to feed and for the cattle they had to take care of. The cattle was their main way of either food or the money they received for selling the cattle. They had to make sure before they went to sell the cattle that they were healthy and in good condition. The cowboys had to brand the cowboys with a hot iron, this is usually done when they are calves. Since a cowboy was a provider it was important for one to preform all the task at hand no matter what conditions or situation they were in. They had to get there job done.
In conclusion these so called “cowboys” we see on tv or movies are not real. Not even half of what we see or hear bout cowboys is the truth. I think Hollywood is giving the wrong message to everyone about cowboys. They endure a lot more then what we thing. Hollywood does not give cowboys enough credit. Everyone should know and learn about the real cowboys and all the hard labor and the conditions and pressure they were under to complete there task.

My opinion on blogging
I feel blogging has its good and it’s bad, using technology I feel is less boring than just using a pen and paper. It can have a negative and positive effect towards your grades. For examples most students are procrastinators or sometimes the topics are just something kids don’t understand or just don’t have any interest in it. Last reason for why blogging is good is because it can improve and help students style of writing get better.
Using a computer to turn in assignment rather then pen and paper I feel is great! It is so much better than having to worry about losing papers misplacing them, forgetting it or just worrying about making up an excuse as to why you forgot your homework. Students are just sloppy and careless with their work. It would be a lot easier and helpful to the teacher to read an essay or for students writing assignments on the computer rather than have a student turn in a sloppy piece of paper.
A negative about blogging would have to be that it is very easy to get behind on work, for instance all the blogs are weekly but not actually do that week, so especially for me a procrastinator I get behind on my blogs and they pile up. I know I am not the only student that it happens too.
There are also other reasons either your computer isn't working at the moment or you’re crammed with other homework or have an emergency and can not get to a computer. I feel that is the only downfall of these blogs or assignments over the computer. Everyone at a point sometimes tends to put things off and procrastinates. These blogs are to be done by us the students weekly, they are graded if done but not really checked to see if there done weekly, sometimes I get lazy or I am just forgetful nod I don't do blogs the week they should be done; So for the next week when we get new blogs to do I end up having to do extra from the previous week. I get behind and just let my blogs pile up. on the other hand much teachers don't make us right too much, I feel weekly blogs and articles help us improve our writing and challenges us to write and come up with ideas about topics we may not be familiar with or don't understand.
It can effect our grades in a positive and negative way, in a positive way it can give you easy point or grades by just writing about a topic you discussed in class or a topic you may already know about; however it can also effect your grades in a negative way students may actually do the work but may not meet the requirements for example these weekly articles are suppose to have 600 -1000 words I feel it is hard to write so many words on a topic you may not find interesting or even understand. I get bored with the topic or just don’t know what to write about and give up and ether postpone it or just not do it at all. I am sure I’m not the only student who thinks or does things that way.
In conclusion I feel blogging has good things that can affect students in a positive way but also can affect students in a negative way. I feel we should still blog but maybe in a different way or change up the weekly articles or just the topics, the blogs are not too much to ask for at all although sometimes it may be difficult for a student to get to a computer or have difficulties with getting it to work.
details
i feel countries should not leave pieces of their history out even if its something negative. Now a days in these history articles or text books all i read is about one country and its achievments. I dont really read much about their losses of wars or anything else negative that they might have done. I feel they should own up and admit there fault who knows the readers might feel as if its an honest mistake. People have different opinions and feel different ways about wars and the wins and the losses but i feel no matter what negative or positive countries should not leave any part of their history out.
History matters
I believe history matters and is very important in todays getneration. Without history we would have no trace of the past. What would we learn in out social studie classes? We can learn from histories mistakes and maybe the government change the way things were done. Maybe we could fix the recession thats taking place or the wars that are happening. History for examples documents are the things that we can learn from or have information about what took place before some of us were even on this earth.

topic of my choice
My favorite blogging topic from first quarter was the blog about history lying and the quote said by Thoreau "that governenment is best which governs least" That topic was very easy for me to write about i knew exactly what i thought about the situation, we had talked about it in class and i was set on what it ment. It makes it alot easier if the topic your writing about is something your familiar with and understand. Anything someone doesnt get isnt gonna be that easy or fun to write about. So i was really looking forward to write about this because i felt it was easy and i knew what i wanted to say about it.
blogs vs paper and pen
Blogging seems great using computers to turn in your h.w? Thats usually not how teachers choose to do it. I rather have to do assignments over the computer rather than having to turn in a bunch of papers and worrying bout loosing them or misplacing them. Doing assignments over the computer make it easier to keep track of your work. Although sometimes its overwhelming if you get behind since things arent actually due that week sometimes ill put it off to the next week and ill have 4 blogs to do, and the weekly articles i feel are kinda hard for me especially if i get behind on my blogs. But i do like blogging rather then using pen and paper.
